Sport, music and the arts · Documented high-level commitment

Their talent needs time. So does their education.

Daily training, concert preparation, travel for competitions. At Dragón, the American School of Torrelodones, we personalize school timetables so that learning and a demanding pursuit can fit together.

Behind every competition or performance are hours of preparation, a family juggling schedules and a great deal of effort. At Dragón we help you balance that talent with a high-quality academic education.

Our educational model lets us personalize timetables, adapt the pace of learning and organize each student’s schedule. For those with a documented high-level commitment, we look for the best possible balance with training, rehearsals, competitions and travel, while maintaining school attendance and academic responsibilities.

Flexibility in practice

A timetable that takes life outside the classroom into account

  • More time to get to training

We adjust their timetable so that they have more time for their journeys, travel, rehearsals, training sessions or competitions.

  • We organize academic work around their big days

When a competition, performance or concert means traveling the day before, we try to plan that trip ahead and agree how to organize academic work around those days.

Who it is for

Different disciplines. A commitment worth listening to.

  • High-performance athletes

Students with documented sporting commitments who need to balance school with demanding preparation, competitions and travel.

  • Instrumentalists and singers

Students in intensive musical training with a documented record, balancing school with practice, rehearsals, auditions or concerts.

  • Other high-level pursuits

If your child’s artistic or other discipline involves documented high-level preparation, tell us about it so we can explore how it could fit with school.

Part of school life

Learning, sharing and moving forward with classmates

This is an in-person education. Coming to school, learning with teachers and spending time with classmates remain part of the Dragón experience.

Personalizing a timetable means planning purposefully: anticipating outside commitments and agreeing how to keep academic work on track in line with the applicable regulations. Flexibility comes with responsibility and communication between the student, family and school.

Start with your actual week

Bring your calendar. Let’s explore the possibilities.

  1. Tell us what your child needs

In our first conversation, tell us their grade, discipline, usual schedule and travel requirements.

  2. We review the documented commitment

Share information showing their activity and level, along with their training, rehearsal or competition calendar. Our team will explain what is needed to assess the case.

  3. We explore a workable timetable together

We consider which adjustments can balance their activity with attendance and academic goals, and agree the conditions with you before committing to a schedule.

Frequently asked questions

Is this distance learning?

No. It is an in-person education with a personal timetable. Early departures and occasional travel are planned and agreed; they do not replace regular school attendance.

Is it only for athletes?

We also consider instrumentalists, singers and students in other disciplines with a documented high-level commitment. What matters is understanding their background and the actual demands of their preparation.

What documentation is needed?

Our team reviews the documentation for each discipline and will explain what to provide. At the first meeting, you can describe the support you have from your club, federation, music school or training institution, and share your calendar.

Room for their dedication. An education that keeps moving forward.
