From 11 to 18, our students follow a flexible curriculum that balances academic knowledge with the personal skills the world now asks for. With their mentors and experienced teachers alongside them, and with a controlled, responsible use of technology, each student shapes their own path toward university and working life.

In Middle and High School, students develop critical thinking, leadership and practical skills, while the learning itself is tailored to what interests them, so they can go deep into different areas and projects.

How Middle and High School differ

  • Middle School (ages 11-14)

A stage for exploring: students strengthen their academic foundations while discovering new interests.

    • Cooperative learning through projects that mean something.
    • An introduction to problem-solving and critical thinking.
    • Growing independence, both in managing their learning and in how they relate to others.
  • High School (ages 15-18)

University preparation and specialization in the areas that matter to them, academically and professionally.

    • Three pathways: sciences, humanities and art.
    • Personal routes built around their abilities and their goals.
    • Advanced technology used to support learning.
    • Opportunities to gain certifications and real-world experience.

Exploring, innovating, and getting ready for what comes next

  • Research and critical thinking

Students build analysis and problem-solving through debate, essays and scientific challenges.

  • Practical, collaborative learning

Projects that make the subjects make sense, and a responsible introduction to screens and artificial intelligence.

  • Leadership and soft skills

Public speaking, teamwork, time management and negotiation, which is what the real world asks for.

A study path built around each student

At Dragón, the American School of Torrelodones, we believe education should fit the student and not the other way round. Learning here is flexible: core subjects alongside optional ones and personal programs.

  • Individual mentors

They follow each student’s progress and help them work out where they are heading, academically and professionally.

  • Personal pathways

Students can choose between areas of specialization, from sciences to humanities and art.

  • Real projects

Knowledge applied in practice, which is what makes it stay.

  • Eco classrooms, free of EMF

Spaces designed for concentration and for how students feel.

Teaching today for tomorrow’s challenges

  • AI applied to learning

Dragón has an educational AI that adapts content to each student’s pace and needs.

  • A close look at how each student is doing

Following performance to spot strengths and the places where there is room to improve.

  • Innovation labs

Spaces given over to experimenting with artificial intelligence and with whatever technology comes next.
