Community and responsible technology
At Dragón, the American School of Torrelodones, we bring together the best of educational tradition and a genuinely fresh outlook. Our aim is a school where learning is personal, hands-on and connected to real life; where relationships between people are not mediated by a phone screen; and where mutual respect and care for our surroundings are first principles.
Every student has a pouch: the phone goes in each morning, is locked away from use, and comes back out on leaving school.
At Dragón we firmly believe that respect, safety and emotional well-being are the ground all learning stands on. We have a zero-tolerance policy toward bullying and micro-bullying in any of its forms: verbal, physical, social or online.
At Dragón we use technology with respect, safely, and only when it genuinely helps someone learn.
We build relationships on empathy, inclusion and respect. Name-calling, mocking, excluding or isolating others are strictly forbidden and dealt with straight away.
At the first sign of behavior that could turn into bullying, we trigger our Firewall Protocol: early intervention with a month of follow-up, preventive measures and continuous contact with the families.
Where bullying is confirmed, we apply proportionate disciplinary measures that may include suspension or, in repeated cases, expulsion. Protecting the vulnerable student always comes first.
Preventing bullying only works when school and family pull together. Abusive behavior can be turned around, but it takes consistency and a shared commitment. Justifying or playing down these attitudes blocks the learning and reinforces the behavior.

Food and well-being
Eating well is central to how students grow, in body and mind. That is why Dragón, the American School of Torrelodones, runs a food program built on healthy, sustainable ingredients, balanced menus and teaching children about what they eat.
